Tórshavn City buses (Sp/f Gundur‘s Bussar) will very likely begin Sunday bus service on April 1, reports Kringvarp Føroya.
A majority of the Tórshavn City Technical Committee has proposed a bus route overhaul, which would see the locally famous red buses run hourly on four routes between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m on Sundays.
According to the proposal, the buses would also run hourly until 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
As it is, Tórshavn buses run hourly until 4 p.m. on Saturdays, while during weekdays they run three times per hour until 11 p.m.
The Tórshavn City Council will review the proposal in a meeting later this week.
Budget documents say Sunday & Saturday night bus services would cost DDK 4 million extra per year. The Tórshavn city bus service costs DKK 24 million per year, as it is.
