The annual Diversity Week kicked off last night to celebrate the importance of diversity in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands.
Annika Olsen, the mayor of Tórshavn Municipality, opened the week, before Toni Hansen took the stage to talk about why it is important continuously to work with integration.
The opening ceremony was held in Posthúskjallarin in downtown Tórshavn.
Tonight Sissal Kampmann will be doing live interviews with Juliana, Janet and Kalpana about their way to the Faroe Islands.
Sissal will be talking to them individually and they are going to talk about their life before coming to the Faroe Islands and about life in the Faroe Islands. About thriving in the new environment and longing for something that was. About having a cultural background that differs from the one that they are living in and about life in general.
The event, which will be held at Tjóðpallur Føroya, is for free and the languages that will be spoken are Faroese and English.
