Introduction:
My name is Liége. I’m 33 years old. I’m a Lawyer, Translator and a Makeup Artist. I’m studying Masters in Law at the University of the Faroe Islands. I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
When and why did you move to the Faroe islands?
Well, I came to the Faroe Islands in June 2013. I decided to immigrate because of my boyfriend and now husband.
What was your first impression of the Faroe Islands and Faroese people?
My first impression was the weather. My husband said that it was summer and I did not believe it! Actually, it was just 15 degrees and I was freezing cold! Of course, I asked my husband: “where is the summer??”
The Faroese people? They are very kind people.
What’s the best thing about the Faroe Islands and Faroese people?
Faroe Islands: safe, calm, stunning!
Faroese people: they are still kind to me 🙂
What’s the worst thing about the Faroe islands and Faroese people?
Faroe Islands: Because I am from a really huge city I believe that the worst thing is the fact that the Faroe Islands are so tiny.

What are the differences between the Faroe Islands and your home country?
I believe it is the way that the people are. Brazilians are more warm, we like to hug and have body contact.
Do you like Faroese music? If yes, what are your favorite bands?
I love Faroese music!!! Týr is my favorite, but I also like Byrta, Marius Ziska…
Do you like Faroese food? If yes, what are your favorite dishes?
No. Well, I’m a really picky person. But the only Faroese dish which I really like is dry fish 🙂 And actually it is my husband’s favorite!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I like to live the present because the future belongs to God. Anyway, I see me happy, enjoying my family and having a good job 🙂
What are your strengths/weaknesses?
Strength: I am really persistent.
Weakness: I am really shy person and don’t like this fact about me.
What is top on your bucket list?
To have more relationship with God and spend more time with my family.

If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be?
I’m grateful with the life that I have. But I would love to have more time to read all the books and the things that I like to do. And also, to play more with my little daughter!

I don’t know, LOL. I would buy something that I need, maybe?
What advice would you give to foreigners who plan to move to the Faroe
Islands?
If you want to integrate: learn Faroese! And if you don’t have too much help, try by yourself.
