The Faroes and the EU agree on 2019 bilateral fisheries cooperation

The annual fisheries consultations between the Faroe Islands and the EU concluded yesterday in Brussels with the signing of the Agreed Record for 2019 by heads of delegations Andras Kristiansen for the Faroe Islands and Jacques Verborgh for the EU.

Faroese and EU fisheries cooperation has since the 1980’s provided an annual exchange of fisheries quotas and access to each others’ waters. The fisheries cooperation is an important pillar in the bilateral relations between the Faroe Islands and the EU.

The annual exchange of fisheries quotas include both pelagic and bottom fish.

The agreed records for 2019 can be seen here.
