The Arctic is taking the scene in Brussels this week with the annual conference, Arctic Futures Symposium, and an Arctic short films event, Arctic Shorts.
The 2018 Arctic Futures Symposium will take place on Wednesday 28 November. The themes for this year´s symposium are: Arctic Institutions; Transport and Logistics; Culture, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Blue Growth and Biodiversity.
Three Faroese participants will take part in the discussion panels in the symposium: Jóhanna á Bergi, CEO, Atlantic Airways, Sóley Heradóttir Hammer, Director, Hugskotið and Elin Mortensen, Head of Mission of the Faroes to the EU.
For the first time, there will be a cultural side event with short films by filmmakers across the Arctic, Arctic Shorts, at BOZAR, Centre for Fine Arts, on Tuesday evening 27 November at 19.30.
The event will feature nine short films from filmmakers from all across the Arctic. Faroese filmmaker Sakaris Stórá is attending with his film, Winter Morning.
