Ten common dolphins killed in tiny Faroese village last night

A pod of ten common dolphins were killed in the village of Hvalvík on Streymoy last night, reports Faroese news webpage Portal.fo.

Four boats participated in the driving, and each boat will get around two common dolphins, says Finnbogi Midjord, the sheriff of the area, according to Portal.fo.

This comes after 146 pilot whales were killed on Gøtuvík Beach on Eysturoy last month.

Portal.fo wrote back then that the killings went fast and well and that many people came to the beach to witness the killings.
