Talks are at ‘an advanced stage’ to build new fishing boats for the Faroe Islands at UK-based Appledore shipyard.
That’s according to northdevongazette.co.uk.
The Government’s Taskforce dedicated to reopening the yard has met at 10 Downing Street, with Boris Johnson and Geoffrey Cox QC holding ‘advanced’ negotiations with the Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands, Bárður á Steig Nielsen, writes northdevongazette.co.uk.
Mr. Cox says ‘a potential new owner’ has been identified and negotiations are ‘moving in the right direction’.
It is the latest in a series of meetings convened by the Taskforce which has been working with Mr Cox to secure new owners and customers for the shipyard following its closure in March.
