Swedes are invading Tórshavn…with beer for a tap take over at Mikkeller

The Swedes are invading Tórshavn this coming Thursday – like they did in the olden days.

Though this time the Swedes bring gifts and more specifically, bring beer for a tap take over at Mikkeller Tórshavn bar.

In the beer community, a tap take over is a collaboration event, where a brewer from another brewery takes over a good portion of the taps within a bar – or a sponsored event where a brewery just brings their selection to a bar for a short period.

Mikkeller Tórshavn, founded in October 2017, is a cozy bar located in a five-hundred-year-old building in the old part of the Faroese capital called “Heima í Havn”.

With 16 taps and a plethora of bottles and cans of all sorts of beer styles, Mikkeller Tórshavn is a unique bar to try, serving quality beer and different styles for every palate. The bar is part of the Mikkeller brand.

Joining the Tap Take Over on Thursday are Mikkel Borg Bergsø, the founder of the Mikkeller company with bars all around the world and award winning beers. From Sweden comes Marcus Hjalmarsson, founder of the Brewski Brewery – a smaller brewery but gaining recognition amongst the beergeeks of the beer community.
