Southerners take to the boats as a ”grind” has been seen close to the village of Porkeri

Earlier this afternoon, around 3 p.m., the people of Suðuroy received the (good?) news that a ”grind” had been seen close to the village of Porkeri on Suðuroy, reports Faroese news webpage Portal.fo.

According to Portal.fo, a few groups of whales were spotted, and many boats  approached the ”grind”.

However, Faroese news media outlets understand that the locals have so far found it difficult to direct the grind towards the shores of Vágur on Suðuroy.

It is not yet known how many whales the ”grind” consists of.
