Recovered Naddoddur returns home to Tvøroyri after fateful journey to Norway

The recovered rowboat Naddoddur, which capsized on its Viking Voyage trip from the Faroe Islands to Norway, has been returned to its owners in Tvøroyri, ahead of a memorial event scheduled to take place in honor of deceased explorer Karla Dana.

A ceremony has been announced by Tvøroyri boat club Bátafelagið Naddoddur to be held on September 20th, commemorating the life of Ms. Dana. The 29-year old archeologist, a Florida resident of Mexican origin, tragically lost her life as the Naddoddur capsized on August 27th in rough weather off the island Måløy, Norway.

The other five team members, rescued by the Norwegian coast guard, included Faroese adventurer Livar Nysted, Swiss skipper and expedition leader Andy Fitze, plus Saeny Blaser, Georg Aebi, and Martin Fitze.
