Strandfaraskip Landsins, the public transport company of the Faroes, denies that Prince, the ferry which sails between Tórshavn and Suðuroy while Smyril is docked, is infested with cockroaches.
According to Faroese news website VP, some passengers claim to have seen cockroaches onboard the ferry.
However, SSL rejects this claim.
“We have thoroughly inspected the ferry, and Heilsufrøðiliga Starvsstovan (The Faroese Food and Veterinary Authority) has also been onboard and done its job, and there is nothing really to criticize,” says Jóan Petur Abrahamsen, SSL operations manager.
Strandfaraskip Landsins has previously kindly asked its passengers “not to flush toilet paper, sanitary towels etc” onboard Prince as the ferry‘s vacuum-toilet system is very sensitive.
