In September 2018, the national airline of the Faroe Islands, Atlantic Airways, and Faroese pension and insurance company, LÍV, joined forces to build a new four-star hotel in of the capital of the Faroe Islands.
The hotel will be part of the international Hilton concern and will be called Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands.
Local.fo was taken on a tour at the construction site by Hilton Garden Inn CEO, Martin Restorff. Restorff has life-long experience from the service industry due to his family’s involvement in the service industry since 1951. One can say that he was raised in the service industry.
Fast forward from September 2018 to July 2019 and the hotel is well underway. The topping-out ceremony was held last month and there are 40 to 50 workers on-site everyday to finish the construction in order to welcome the first guests in summer 2020.
The view from the hotel rooms is spectacular (it’s a bit foggy today, but still…).
