The amount of tourists visiting the islands of Mykines and Kalsoy has more than doubled since 2014.
The number of people visiting Mykines rose from 12.500 in 2014 to nearly 30.000 in 2019. As for Kalsoy, 23.000 people visited the island in 2014, while 50.000 people have visited the island so far this year, reports Kringvarp Føroya.
There has also been a big increase in visitor numbers in Fugloy, adds Kringvarp Føroya.
With only 52.000 residents, the islands manage to welcome about 100,000 people each year, seeing a 10% growth in tourists in recent years.
