KÍ Klaksvík score first ever goal away from home in European club competitions

6/28-2018: KÍ Klaksvík managed to claim a valuable 1-1 draw away to Maltese side Birkirkara in the first leg of the preliminary round of the UEFA Europa League thanks to a late Deni Pavlovic header.

It was the first away goal scored by KÍ Klaksvík in European club competitions.

Birkirkara took the lead after 70 minutes through Michael Mifsud’s well-taken strike, but on 88 minutes the Maltese side were stunned when from a Jákup Andreasen corner, it was Deni Pavlovic who headed into the Birkirkara net to hand the Faroe Islanders the away goal advantage.

The return leg will be played in the Faroe Islands next Thursday.
