Horrendous goalkeeping howler leaves KÍ Klaksvík’s championship hopes in the balance

Kristian Joensen‘s late howler enabled NSÍ Runavík to snatch a draw from a largely uneventful 10th round Betri Division game at KÍ Klaksvík on Sunday.

KÍ Klaksvík were the better side and had a couple of chances to go 2-0 up after Boris Dosljak had given them the lead on 54 minutes, but with 82 minutes played KÍ Klaksvík goalkeeper Kristian Joensen allowed Einar Tróndargjógv‘s tame-looking shot go through his legs and into the net and the scores were level.

KÍ Klaksvík started this season very well and were early favorites to win the Faroese championship for the first time since 1999. However, the team from up north have struggled lately and are currently third in the Premier Faroese league, five points behind league leaders HB Tórshavn.
