Happy Birthday, Israel! Faroe Islanders just love Israel and will mark country’s 70th Independence Day

Many Faroe Islanders are extremely Pro Israel and huge fans of the Jewish state.

Hence, it is no surprise that a so-called ”celebration of freedom” event will be held in Tórshavn on Monday to mark Israel’s 70 years of existence as an independent nation.

On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel, and on May 14, 2018, many Faroe Islanders will gather at ”Vaglið”, the area outside the parliament building in Tórshavn, to celecrate Israel’s 70th anniversary.

The famous Faroese evangelist Mr. Svenning á Lofti (pictured with his wife, Birgit) will give a speech at the event, and so will Israeli politician Mr. Avi Lipkin, who has been invited to the Faroe Islands for this particular occasion.

The birthday party will start at 5.30 p.m. on Monday with free coffee and layer cake for all, say the organizers.
