Faroese muslims celebrate the end of Ramadan

There is a a small Muslim community in the Faroe Islands, and this weekend they will have a good reason to celebrate.

Tórsstova states on its Facebook page that ”As the Ramadan is coming to an end an Eid ul-Fitr celebration will be at Posthúskjallarin Sunday June 17th at 16 – 18”.

Tórsstova is a page for people interested in integration in Tórshavn Municipality.

According to the 2011 Census, there were 23 (0.07%) Muslims in the Faroe Islands.

Religion in the Faroe Islands consists largely of the Lutheran Church of the Faroe Islands, but also includes smaller Protestant groups such as the Open Brethren, as well as a few Catholics and adherents of non-Trinitarian and non-Christian religions, such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
