Faroese film selected for Semaine de la Critique

Andreas Høgenni’s graduation film “Ikki illa meint” (No bad intentions) has been selected to Semaine de la Critique (The International Critics’ Week), 15-23 May, in Cannes.

It is the first ever Faroese film to be selected for Semaine de la Critique.

The 30-year-old Faroese filmmaker wrote on Twitter that he is “incredibly thankful for this amazing opportunity, and grateful for the crew that stood behind this little chaotic film.”

Parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival, la Semaine de la Critique has steadfastly remained true to its tradition of discovering new talents. Ever since it was conceived by the French Union of Film Critics in 1962, the objective of la Semaine de la Critique has been to showcase first and second feature films by directors from all over the world.

Within its research of new filmmakers, la Semaine has always paid great attention to short and medium length films, first steps in the career of a director.
