Faroe Islands jobless rate falls below 1% for first time ever

The Faroe Islands unemployment rate has fallen below 1 per cent for the first time ever, reports Statistics Faroe Islands (Hagstova Føroya).

The jobless rate sunk to 0.9 per cent in September, its lowest ever. In September 2018, the jobless rate stood at 1.3 per cent.

Men have a lower unemployment rate than women. The unemployment rate for men was 0.7 per cent in September, while the rate for women was 1.0 per cent – as compared to 1.3 & 1.6 per cent, respectively, in September 2018.
