The Easter holidays have begun and all around the country Faroe Islands police departments are on alert to prevent untoward incidents that could disturb the festivities.
Last night a male driver was arrested for failing to identify himself after he was stopped by police in ”Kaldbaksbotnur” on the islands of Streymoy, writes Faroese news site Portal.fo.
”In circumstances like these, police have no other option but to arrest the person. It raises suspicion when people refuse to identify themselves, and because of that police have chosen to arrest the perpetrators whenever that happens”, says Tórshavn police according to Portal.fo.
Apart from this very unfortunate incident, Easter has been very quiet for Faroese police officers thus far.
