Around 2 p.m. yesterday MRCC (the Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre in the Faroe Islands) was notified that a Danish woman had suffered an injury to her foot while out with her partner on a walk along the Faroe Islands’ largest lake to the waterfall ”Bøsdalafossur” on the island of Vágar, writes Faroese news site Portal.fo today.
The woman could not walk as she had most likely broken a bone in her foot, and therefore the Atlantic Airways rescue helicopter was called to the scene.
The couple were then safely transported to Vágar Airport, adds Portal.fo.
