KÍ Klaksvík clinched their first Faroese Premier Division title since 1999 on Saturday as they defeated B36 Tórshavn 3-0 at Gundadalur Stadium, Tórshavn.
The two teams clashed in a title decider on the final day of the season.
The Tigers Whiters needed to win to become champions, while a point would be good enough to seal the deal for the ‘Blues from the North‘.
However, the latter had not intention to play for a draw. They were on the front foot from kick off and after 8 minutes they were already 2-0 up.
B36 Tórshavn never recovered from their poor start and conceded another goal in the 80th minute.
The result means the northerners are Faroese champions for the 18th time in their history.
