Bakkafrost gains foothold in the UK

Faroese firm Bakkafrost has acquired 17.849.626 shares in The Scottish Salmon Company at a price of NOK 28.25 per share, which corresponds to 9.2% of the shares of The Scottish Salmon Company.

Earlier this week, Bakkafrost agreed to acquire Northern Link’s 68.6% stake of shares in The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC), triggering a mandatory takeover of the entire business.

The Scottish Salmon Company (SCC) is one of the three biggest producers of farmed salmon in Scottish waters, operating at 60 sites and with more than 600 workers.
