Local.fo is the only news outlet dedicated to providing news from the Faroe Islands in English exclusively. Beyond reflecting the news scene in the Faroe Islands, we want to share stories of relevance to foreigners visiting or living in the Faroe Islands as well as people around the world with an interest in the Faroe Islands.
Founded in January 2018 by Jens Hákun Leo and Torleif Joensen on the idea that foreigners are interested in news and information from the Faroe Islands, Local.fo was acquired by Tyril & Olsen in late 2020.
