Weekend retreat for people with immigrant backgrounds to be held in Nesvík

An event for people with immigrant backgrounds will be held in Nesvík from the 5th to the 7th of October. This event is the first one of its kind in The Faroe Islands. It is organized by The Faroese Red Cross in cooperation with The Immigration Office (Útlendingastovan).

The event facilitates a cozy and inspiring environment for meetings between families, where one or both spouses have an immigrant background. The program is tailored to be relevant and beneficial to families with immigrant backgrounds, and it includes talks by individuals with immigrant backgrounds on their life in the islands, workshops on topics such as the small Faroese society and what it means to have more than one language at home, beginner-friendly hikes, a musical performance by Signar í Homrum and a program for children of all ages arranged by Angela, Vár og Eir from the theatre group VEIA.

Representatives from Nám and The Immigration Office will be available during the weekend to answer possible inquiries.

The deadline for signing up is on Sunday the 30th of September.

If you have any questions about the retreat, please contact Annika Isfeldt from The Red Cross on [email protected] or +298 283630.
