Open letter to Faroe Islanders: “You could be known for excellence and become a centre for ecological tourism. Instead you are known for slaughter”

Greetings from England!

Just to let you know that, having heard about the beauty of the Faroe Islands, my family and I had been intending to visit.

However following the recent slaughter of innocent creatures and your seas running red with blood we will not be visiting EVER.

Why do people in the Faroe Islands think it is their right to kill? Do you OWN these creatures? Would you slaughter herds of lions or tigers? Are you people SO backward that you do not realise that, as a world, we are fighting to conserve and protect what wildlife has not already been destroyed by the greed of the human race?

Your Islands could have a reputation as an international centre for conservation, for natural wildlife protection, for wilding, for looking after the environment. You could be known for excellence and become a centre for ecological tourism. Instead you are known for slaughter.

85% of people on your islands support the killing of pilot whales? These are people I will enjoy never meeting.

With sadness and despair from London,
