Man sentenced to 27 months for drug smuggling

A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 27 months in prison after The Court of the Faroe Islands convicted him of drug smuggling.

A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 27 months in prison after The Court of the Faroe Islands convicted him of drug smuggling, reports Taks.

The man was busted for smuggling 214 grams of amphetamine and 1.285 grams of hashish.

He was arrested getting off MS Norröna last December.

In the Faroe Islands, a gram of marijuana, or hashish, costs DKK 250 on average on the street, while a gram of amphetamine costs around DKK 300-500 on the street.

The 21-year-old accepted the prison sentence.
