Let the exports recommence; Russia ends import ban on Bakkafrost products

Russian authorities have decided to lift the import ban on Bakkafrosts salmon byproducts.

Farose salmon producer Bakkafrost yesterday announced that the Russian authorities Rosselkhoznadzor have lifted the restrictions for Aut. no. FO 125 Glyvrar to Russia.

Russian authorities imposed import restrictions on imports from Bakkafrost’s main processing plant AUT 125 Glyvrar in November 2018.

The stated reason was found of some bacteria in a sample of offcuts that was imported to Russia.

Bakkafrost’s production facility at Glyvrar, Aut. no. FO 125 Glyvrar, opened to export to Russia from yesterday, 22 February 2019.

Russia is one of Bakkafrost’s biggest customers.
