Faroese restaurant KOKS, widely regarded as the best restaurant in the Faroe Islands, has reached another impressive milestone as it has been ranked in 46th place on OAD´s list of Top 100+ European Restaurants 2018.
The hugely popular restaurant has taken quite a leap up the OAD-ranking since last year when it was ranked as No.78 restaurant in Europe.
This is not the first time KOKS has been honoured with international praise.
Last year KOKS was named the second best restaurant in the Danish kingdom by the annual White Guide. Back then, White Guide had this to say about Poul Andrias, head chef at KOKS: “He has a superior ability to produce completely unique flavours based on locally sourced produce. Poul is the present – and the future.”
In February 2017, KOKS became the first Faroese restaurant to be awarded with a Michelin star, and in February 2018 KOKS retained the Michelin star.
As for the list of Top 100+ European Restaurants 2018, Swiss restaurant Schloss Schauenstein took the #1 spot, while Swedish restaurant Fäviken came in at No.2. Spanish restaurant Etxebarri came in third place, while French restaurant L’Arpège took fourth spot.
