Ferry services linking the village of Sørvágur on Vágar to the very popular tourist attraction Mykines have been hampered by bad weather conditions these past few days, writes Faroese news webpage VP.fo.
Ferry services to the westernmost island in the Faroe Islands commenced on May 1 (last Tuesday), ”but so far Jósup has only completed two round-trips”, says Tummas Henriksen, the owner of Jósup.
The ferry to Mykines is called Jósup. Jósup is privately owned as SSL (Strandfaraskip Landsins) has a contract with Sp/f Mykines for the route to Mykines.
Jósup will sail to Mykines from May until August and for two weeks in October according to this sailing plan.
According to VP, weather conditions on route 36 (Sørvágur-Mykines) are unlikely to improve over the next few days.
