Faroese government establishes representative office in Beijing

Foreign minister Poul Michelsen has taken the initiative to establish a Faroese representation in Beijing, China.

According to uvmr.fo, the newest Faroese representation abroad will open on August 1, 2019.

53-year-old Sigmundur Ísfeld – a highly experienced diplomat – has been chosen as the Beijing-based emissary.

Currently, the Faroe Islands maintain five representative offices abroad: in Copenhagen, Reykjavik, London, Brussels and Moscow.
