Faroese actor wins Reumert Prize of honour

The Reumert prize is an annual Danish awards ceremony to recognize excellence in theatre achievements in Denmark. The prize was founded by the Bikuben Foundation in 1998 and has been handed annually since then.

Faroese actor Olaf Johannesen won the coveted Reumert Prize of honour in Copenhagen last weekend, reports Kringvarp Føroya.

The Reumert prize is an annual Danish awards ceremony to recognize excellence in theatre achievements in Denmark. The prize was founded by the Bikuben Foundation in 1998 and has been handed annually since then. The prizes are in 16 categories and 10 talent-prizes.

Olaf Johannesen also won Reumert prizes in 2015 and 2016 in the Best Leading Actor category, writes Kvf.fo.

The recipients of the Reumert Prize of honour receive DDK 200.000, the recipients of the Talent prize receive DDK 35 000 and all other categories-recipients receive DDK 40.000.

The Reumert prize is named after the Danish actor Poul Reumert (1883-1968).
