Scenes from the Faroe Islands have been used in a new Hollywood romantic thriller by award-winning German director, Wim Wenders. The film, called Submergence, premiered at films festivals in Toronto and San Sebastian last September.
The famous G! Festival is Gøta’s flagship event, attracting thousands of music lovers every summer since the early 2000s. But now,at this time of year, G!’s young cousin – HOYMAbit is another attraction drawing residents and visitors alike to the village.
The Faroese folk metal band, which is currently on a North American tour with Orphaned Land, Ghost Ship Octavius and Aeternam, played a concert at Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory where the band’s lead singer was subjected to rather unsophisticated taunts.
