29-year-old man dies after falling from mountain on the island of Kalsoy

A 29-year-old man has died falling around 300-400 meters from a mountain above the village of Trøllanes on Kalsoy.

A 29-year-old man has died falling around 300-400 meters from a mountain above the village of Trøllanes on Kalsoy, reports Faroese news website JN.fo today.

Faroe Islands police were called at 12.19 today as a 29-year-old man fell on the west side of Kalsoy.

Faroe Islands Police and MRCC launched a massive search operation, and the Atlantic Airways rescue helicopter eventually found the man and flew him to the National Hospital in Tórshavn.

The man was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.
